Manage member time tracking
Turn time tracking on or off for individual members.
The default
New members can track time as soon as they accept their invitation. Nothing needs switching on.
Turn it off for anyone who should not be recording hours.
Turn tracking on or off for one member
- Go to Settings → Workspace.
- Find the member in the list.
- Toggle their time tracking switch.
The change applies immediately.
Turn it on or off for everyone
The same page has a control that applies to every member at once, for when you are rolling tracking out to the whole team or standing it down.
What happens when you turn it off
- They can no longer start a timer.
- A timer already running is stopped, and the work so far is saved. Nothing
recorded is discarded.
- Their past entries stay in timesheets and reports.
- The My time entry disappears from their sidebar, so there is no locked
control for them to wonder about.
What happens when you turn it back on
They can track again straight away. Their history was never removed.
An admin's own switch
Turning an Owner's or Admin's tracking off stops them recording their own time. It does not remove their access to the team dashboard, timesheets, or reports, which are a separate permission.
This is a preference, not a permission
The switch only narrows access. It never grants it. The plan is checked first, so a member left switched on after a downgrade from Agency to Pro still cannot track, and the stale setting has no effect.
The member's view
Someone whose tracking is off sees no timer controls and no My time entry. If they reach a tracking action another way, they are told tracking is off for their account and to ask an agency admin.
See Can't track time.
