Career Vault and your plan

What Free, Pro, and Agency each allow, and what happens when you switch.

Career Vault is personal, so it follows your own plan. A workspace you belong to never changes it.

Free accounts can build and privately preview a profile in full. Only publishing is held back. Follow-up tasks use your normal personal task limit.

Show or hide Career Vault

On Pro and Agency, Career Vault can be switched on or off:

  1. Go to Settings → Account.
  2. Find Personal Career Vault.
  3. Turn it on or off.

Pro shows Career Vault by default; Agency hides it by default. Free accounts always show it. Hiding it only removes Career Vault from the Career section of the sidebar: everything stored in it stays exactly where it was, and switching it back on never republishes a Career Profile.

Why Agency hides it

Agency is an agency-operations plan, and an agency owner setting up a team workspace does not need a personal job-seeking section in their sidebar. It is hidden rather than removed, and switching it on takes one step.

If an agency sponsors your Pro through a paid seat, you get Pro-level Career Vault access, publishing included, on your own account. See Sponsored Pro.

What happens when your plan changes

Free to Pro

Publishing unlocks. Nothing else changes, and nothing needs re-uploading.

Pro to Free

Your vault content, your profile content, and your chosen link are all kept. You can still edit and privately preview the profile on Free. Publish again whenever you return to Pro.

This also applies when a sponsorship ends because you left an Agency workspace or your seat was removed.

Pro or Free to Agency

Two things happen:

  1. Career Vault is hidden from the sidebar. Switch it back on in

Settings → Account → Personal Career Vault.

  1. A published profile is set back to Draft. Publish it again if you still

want it public.

Nothing is deleted in either case.

Agency to Pro

Career Vault becomes visible again by default, and the Personal Career Vault switch stays available if you would rather keep it hidden. Your profile's publish state is left as it was.

Nothing is ever deleted by a plan change

Plan changes only affect publication state and sidebar visibility. Your files, templates, portfolio, certificates, and saved answers stay exactly where they are, on every plan.
