Invite a collaborator
Share a personal project by email and choose what the person can do.
Before you begin
- You must be the project's owner. Collaborators cannot invite other people.
- You need their email address.
- You need a free slot within your plan's
Invite from the project
- Open the project.
- Select Share at the top of the page.
- Enter the person's email address.
- Choose a permission level, Full access, Tasks only, or
View + complete.
- Select Send invitation.
Invite from Settings
Settings gives you the same thing plus a view of everyone you are already sharing with.
- Go to Settings → Collaborators.
- Select Invite.
- Enter the email address.
- Choose the project and the permission level.
- Select Send invitation.
What happens next
If they already use VA To-Do, the project appears in their sidebar, and they get a notification. Nothing else is needed from them.
If they are new, they get an email inviting them to VA To-Do. Once they create an account with that address, the project is waiting for them.
Either way the invitation is tied to the exact email address you entered.
Track and cancel pending invitations
Settings → Collaborators lists everyone you share with, and everyone with an invitation outstanding.
For a pending invitation you can:
- Resend it, if the email went astray
- Cancel it, which frees the slot immediately
Their limits, not yours
A collaborator working in your project is working inside a project you own, so your plan governs it. Their own plan does not change what your project can hold.
Equally, being a collaborator on your project does not use up a slot on their account. The limit is counted on the owner's side.
Troubleshooting
If the invitation has not arrived, see Invitation problems.
