Due dates, priorities, and sections

Keep a long task list readable with dates, priorities, sections, and subtasks.

Due dates

A due date puts a task into Today or Upcoming and makes it visible in the Calendar view.

To set one:

  1. Open the task, or select the date control on its row.
  2. Pick a date, or choose Today, Tomorrow, or Next week.
  3. Add a time if the task is time-sensitive. Leave it off if only the day

matters.

Overdue tasks stay in Today, marked so they stand out, until you complete or reschedule them.

To remove a due date, open the date picker and clear it.

Priorities

Four levels, highest first:

PriorityUse it for
UrgentNeeds attention today
HighImportant this week
NormalOrdinary work, the default
NoneSomeday, or nice to have

Set the priority from the flag control on the task row, or inside the task.

Priority is a visual signal and a sort key. It does not change due dates or send reminders on its own.

Sections

Sections group tasks inside a single project, Backlog, In progress, Waiting on client, whatever fits the work.

  1. Open the project.
  2. Select Add section.
  3. Name it and press Enter.

Drag tasks between sections to move them. In Board layout, each section becomes a column and dragging a card between columns moves the task.

Subtasks

For a task with several concrete steps, subtasks keep them together rather than splitting them into separate tasks.

  1. Open the task.
  2. Select Add subtask.
  3. Type the step and press Enter.

A progress bar on the parent shows how many are done. Subtasks do not count toward the Free active-task limit.

Use a subtask when a step has no meaning outside its parent. Use a separate task when it has its own due date, priority, or assignee.

Sorting and filtering

The controls at the top of a list let you sort by due date, priority, or the order you arranged manually, and filter down to what you want to see. Board layout has its own filter for the same purpose.

Your choice is remembered per view, so setting up Today once keeps it that way.
