Daily Briefing

A morning summary of your day, on Pro and Agency: when it arrives, what it contains, and how to set it up.

The Daily Briefing starts your day with a summary of your tasks. It is available on Pro and Agency, and it is off until you switch it on.

Switching it on

Settings → Notifications → Daily Briefing.

On Free the row shows a PRO badge and an Unlock with Pro button rather than a switch. See Upgrade.

Switching it on reveals its settings. Nothing is sent by the act of turning it on: the first briefing arrives at the next time you have scheduled.

What you can set

  • Send at: the hour it arrives, in your timezone
  • Days: any combination of the week. Weekdays only by default. No days

selected means no briefing

  • Include: overdue tasks, tasks due today, upcoming tasks, high-priority

tasks, recently assigned tasks. Anything you uncheck is left out of both the list and the counts

  • Delivery: in-app always, plus email if you want it

What it contains

A headline count, then the sections you asked for:

  • Overdue, anything past its due date and not finished
  • Due today
  • Coming up, the next seven days
  • High priority, urgent and high-priority work not already listed above, so

nothing appears twice

  • Recently assigned, work handed to you in the last day

Only tasks you can actually open are included: your own, tasks assigned to you, and tasks in projects you have access to. A project you cannot open never appears, whoever else is in the workspace.

Days with nothing on them

If you have no overdue work, nothing due today, and nothing else the briefing would name, no briefing is sent. A message telling you that you have nothing to do is not worth an interruption.

You get exactly one briefing per scheduled day, however many times VA To-Do checks.

If it has not arrived

  • Check today is one of your selected days
  • Check your timezone in Settings → Account. The briefing is sent by your

local clock, and an unset timezone falls back to UTC

  • Check whether you actually had anything due. Empty briefings are skipped
  • For email, check the Email box under Delivery is ticked
