Task views and layouts
Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Completed, and the List, Board, and Calendar layouts.
Two independent choices: which tasks you are looking at, and how they are laid out.
Which tasks
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| Inbox | Every active task in the current context |
| Today | Due today, plus anything overdue |
| Upcoming | Due on a future date |
| Completed | Finished tasks |
| A project | Just that project's tasks |
| Recurring | Your repeat schedules, not individual occurrences |
Remember that these are scoped to your current context. Switch to a workspace and the Inbox shows that workspace's tasks, not your personal ones.
How they are laid out
Use the layout switcher at the top right of any task view.
List
Rows grouped into sections, with due date, priority, project colour, assignees, and comment count on each. The default, and the densest.
Board
A Kanban board with one column per section. Drag a card between columns to move the task. Good for work with clear stages.
Calendar
A monthly grid with tasks placed on their due dates. Tasks without a due date do not appear. Drag a task to another day to reschedule it, which makes this the quickest way to spread a heavy week out.
Recurring tasks show their upcoming occurrences here too, as lighter preview chips on future dates. Each preview becomes a real task on the day it is due. See Recurring tasks.
Your choice is remembered
The layout is stored per view. Set the Inbox to Board and a client project to Calendar, and each stays that way when you come back.
Google Calendar
With Google Calendar connected, your Google events appear as colored chips alongside your tasks in the Calendar layout, and upcoming events are listed in the List and Board views. Events are read-only: select one to see its details and open it in Google Calendar, but reschedule it there, not here.
Google Calendar sync is available on Pro and Agency, like the Calendar layout itself.
See Integrations to connect it and choose which calendars appear.
