Project permissions
Who can view, edit, and manage a project, on both personal and workspace projects.
Access to a project is decided differently depending on whether it is a personal project or a workspace project.
Personal projects
The owner can do everything. Everyone else has the permission the owner gave them when sharing.
| Action | Owner | Full access | Tasks only | View + complete |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| See the project and its tasks | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Complete a task | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Add and edit tasks | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Add and edit sections | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Rename the project or change its colour | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Share it with someone else | Yes | No | No | No |
| Delete the project | Yes | No | No | No |
Sharing and deletion stay with the owner in every case.
Workspace projects
Access follows the member's workspace role, and for team members, whether they are assigned to the project.
| Action | Owner | Admin | VA / Team Member |

These rules are enforced on the server
The interface hides things you cannot do, but hiding is not the protection. Every action is checked again on our servers before anything changes. A request that gets past the interface is still refused.
Why can't I see a project?
The usual reasons, in order of likelihood:
- You are in the wrong context. Check the switcher at the top of the
sidebar, a workspace project is invisible from Personal.
- You are not assigned to it. Team members see assigned projects only. Ask
an Owner or Admin to assign you.
- The share was to a different email address. Access is granted to a
specific address; signing in with another one gives you a different account.
- Your access was removed, or the project was deleted.
